Linyi Xincheng Jinluo announced the installation of a 42 station TEAM® System in a new 3,200 sow management systems production unit in Yinan County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, China. Agriculture is a major industry in the area and Shandong province, located on the eastern coast of China, is one of the top five pork-producing provinces in China.
Xincheng Jinluo selected the TEAM System because of Osborne Industries’ more than twenty years of experience in the research, development, sales and service of electronic sow management systems. Mr. Yang Biquan, the vice director of Xincheng Jinluo’s Livestock Department, stated that the company purchased the TEAM System to improve sow longevity, save feed and improve the uniformity and quality of baby piglets through improved sow condition. Xincheng Jinluo, a large Chinese conglomerate engaged in the production of meat products in China, has 12 processing plants located in 7 Chinese provinces. Xincheng Jinluo has an annual processing capacity of 20 million pigs and 50 million chickens and entered into the production of pigs in order to assure a consistent supply of hogs for the processing plants.
Xincheng Jinluo plans to have 20,000 sows in company-owned production units by the end of 2009.
The TEAM System, manufactured by Osborne Industries, Inc. of Osborne, Kansas, U.S.A., is a large pen management system for group-housed gestating sows. The TEAM System eliminates the need for gestation crates in the production of pigs and facilitates individual feeding and management of sows managed in large groups. The Jinluo installation marks the fifth TEAM large-pen system installation in China in the past year and many additional installations are scheduled for 2009 and 2010.
